Washington State's WE-Bike rebate program gives residents $300 or $1,200 off a new electric bike. The application portal is open now, and the first random drawing is April 13th.
Here's why applying early matters: every month, a limited number of applicants are randomly selected from the pool. The earlier you apply, the more drawings you're entered into — and the first drawings will have the smallest pools and the best odds. As the year goes on, the pool grows and fewer rebates remain. Your best chance is right now.
There are two rebate levels:
The $300 rebate is a great deal — but the $1,200 rebate covers most of the value of a new e-bike! In 2025, half of the people who received the $1,200 rebate paid $300 or less out of pocket for their e-bike. It's competitive, though: there were 22,954 income-qualified applicants in 2025, and only about 14% were selected. That's why applying early — before the pool gets bigger — gives you the best shot.
To qualify for the $1,200 rebate, you'll need to verify your income. This is typically done with your 2025 tax return, though other documentation may be accepted — the program administrator, Aptim, will walk you through the process after you apply.
Here are the 80% AMI thresholds for King County:

That's it — one application puts you in the pool for the rest of the program year. But remember: the first draw has the best odds, so apply today.
If you're selected, bring your rebate code to Bike Swift. We'll apply it instantly to the purchase of any eligible bike we sell — no reimbursement paperwork, no waiting. Come by for a test ride before or after you apply!

Your e-bike is an investment in transportation that should last you many years — and where you buy it matters. The shop you purchase from will be your service center, at least through the warranty period. Here's why our customers choose us:
→ Local Seattle bike shop — we've been building e-bikes for 14 years.
→ Test ride before you buy. There's no better way to find the right bike.
→ Expert service and support for the life of your bike.
→ Friendly advice, no pressure. We'll help you find the right fit, not the most expensive option.
→ Convenient pickup in South Lake Union, near the flagship REI store.
Very likely! We sell Aventon, Urtopia, Velotric, Segway, Kona, Yuba, Surly, and Benno — not just the bikes shown on our site. If the bike meets WSDOT's requirements for the program, hit us up!
What bikes are eligible for the rebate?
Bikes must be UL2849 certified, class 1, 2, or 3, and approved by Washington State. We carry several eligible models and can order many more.
Can I use the rebate on an e-bike conversion?
No, only complete, turn-key e-bikes are eligible.
What if I don't get the rebate?
We still offer affordable e-bike options! Reach out — we'd love to help you find the right bike.
A lot of people don't know this program exists. If you have friends, family, or coworkers who've been thinking about an e-bike — or who could use a more affordable way to get around — send them this page. The more people who apply early, the better everyone's chances in those first drawings.
